ICSP Scholarships for International Students in USA 2013-2014


International students who demonstrate financial need and exceptional merit may apply for the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). Selected ICSP students receive a tuition-waiver scholarship ranging from $7,500 – $27,000. ICSP students agree to complete 80 hours per year of cultural service as required by the program. Cultural service can include speaking or giving demonstrations to schools or community groups about the heritage and culture of your country or participating in international events on campus.

ScholarshipCriteria
  • Applicants must be admissible or fully admitted to theUniversity of Oregon. New students must apply for admission to the UO for 2013-14 by January 15, 2013.
  • Applicants cannot be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or eligible to receive U.S. federal financialassistance. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA requirement.
  • The following criteria are used to select the successful candidate:
    -Demonstrated financial need
    -Experience participating in cultural activities
    -Demonstrated performance and presentation skills
    -Strong academic records
    -Strong communication skills

    • Presentation materials The selection committee is very interested in the types of presentations you are able to make. Describe topics you are prepared to address as you represent your country and cultural background. Include a list of the materials you need to illustrate your talk (ie. slides, photographs, instruments, national dress, artifacts, etc.).
    • Two-page personal biography The biography should be in the form of an essay and not a listing of facts. It should include information concerning your background, future goals, education, influential experiences and special interests.
  2. Two recommendation forms. You are responsible for making sure that your recommendations are submitted in English on or before January 15, 2013. Please be sure that your recommender uses the same name that is on your ICSP application. Recommendation letters submitted to the office of Admissions can NOT be used for your ICSP Application.

This new MSc programme is designed to provide you with a broad education in diverse areas of medical sciences. You will gain an understanding of the principles and practices that underpin contemporary medical sciences and biomedicine. The programme is suitable for graduates with a background in biomedical sciences,medicine or dentistry and for graduates from more varied backgrounds who require a conversion course that will allow them to acquire expertise and specialist knowledge in biomedicine. The knowledge and skills acquired will be relevant to a wide range of careers, including those in the health sector, academia and industry for which a Masters’ level education is desirable or essential. The programme will also provide an excellent preparation for a higher level research degree.

ScholarshipCriteria
  • -An Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science or related discipline or a degree in medicine or dentistry. For science graduates, a first-class or an upper-second-class degree is the standard minimum requirement. Two academic references are required.
  • -Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5 for each sub-section, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or equivalent. Applicants with lower English language qualifications may be accepted if they follow a pre-sessional English course at our INTO Newcastle University Centre which provides extra tuition to help students meet the University’s English language requirements.

Yayasan Cemerlang provides underprivileged youths with a scholarship award to pursue higher education at thelocal universities in Malaysia. Ancora-Khazanah Asia Scholarship 2013





The Ancora-Khazanah Asia Scholarship is a collaboration between the Ancora Foundation and Yayasan Khazanah to allow Indonesians to pursue a four-year undergraduate education at leading Malaysian universities.
This programme supports Yayasan Khazanah’s objective to develop future business and industry leaders in the region. It further provides a means for Khazanah and its group of companies to contribute towards the social development of the countries it has operational interests, especially Indonesia. It seeks candidates with an excellent academic record and rigor in extracurricular activity. It is a highly competitive process.
Since 2009, five candidates were selected from a field of around 500 applicants. They have several universities to choose from. These include Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Universiti Multimedia, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaya and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Scholarship Criteria
Applicants should :
  • not exceed 21 years;
  • have completed Sekolah Menengah Umum 3 (SMU3) and obtained minimum points of 8.0 for every subject in the Ujian Akhir Nasional by August 2013 or obtained a minimum of 3As & 1B for A-Levels or a minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00 or ‘A’ grade average or equivalent for a pre-university or matriculation programme;
  • demonstrate proficient command of English Language; and
  • show strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities.

The scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate degree level in courses offered by the University
Scholarship Package
Each scholarship shall cover the following:
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by the respective Malaysian universities);
  • Living costs; and
  • Return air-ticket (economy class)
